What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses laser light — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. Laser hair removal works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser targets dark pigment, called melanin, in hair. When the light beam hits the hair follicle (where hair growth originates), the intense heat destroys the hair follicle instantly.
In most cases, laser hair removal slows hair regrowth, but it takes several treatments to provide an extended "hair-free" period.

Who are candidates for LightSheer Laser Hair Removal?
Although LightSheer is safe for everybody, individuals with darker or ethnic skin may experience some adverse reactions such as hypopigmentation (loss of pigment). For those individuals, we recommend a test spot, at least a week before the procedure.
Unfortunately, the LightSheer laser cannot target red, white, or blonde hair.
Individuals should not be tan, and not go out in the sun after a procedure.

What can I expect during laser hair removal?
You can expect a cooling sensation, followed by slight stinging, often described as a rubber band snap. Afterward, skin may be warm, red, and you may experience a razor-burn like sensation which should fade in about a day.
What results can I expect?
After several treatments, hair growth will be visibly thinner. Usually it will take 4-6 treatments, spaced about 6 weeks apart for desired results. Sometimes a "touch-up" treatment may be needed, and can be scheduled easily.
